We are now two weeks away from the start of the school year folks! I don't know about you but no matter how much I do with my boys over the summer, I still get mom guilt over how much more I could have done to make THIS season really count. Could I have read more with my 7 year old? Sure. Were there days where I was more about work than play? Definitely. Still, we had an amazing summer. We took a road trip to Utah, spent quality time in Mexico, moved here to Vista, we had days at the beach, in the pool, or on the couch with family. Overall I think this summer was a mom win! I am also grateful to still have a little bit more time to play before the busyness of the school year kicks in. The following are a few highlights for the next few days in San Marcos and Vista for babies, kids, and teens. Friday August 3rd
Friday Night Splash- The Wave Waterpark discounts admission to $9.95 per person after 4 PM on this special Friday event. There will also be games, competitions, prizes, and discounted food.
Saturday August 4th
Home Depot Kids Workshop: Book Worm Bookends- This monthly FREE kids workshop hosted by the Home Depot is family favorite for us. This month children will be making bookends out of wood materials. Just in time for those school textbooks to hit the family bookshelves.
Sunday August 5th
29th Annual Vista Rod Run - Over 300 cars, live music, vendors, FREE admission, and Downtown Vista businesses to shop and eat in- this will be an awesome family fun event.
Tuesday August 7th
San Diego Model Railroad Museum-This First Tuesday of the month is a FREE admission day for all SD county residents so bring your ID.
San Marcos National Night Out- This Free Family Fun event brings together communities all across the country to focus on safety. In San Marcos families will have a chance to see the talking patrol car, interact with fire engines, meet local firefighters and safety officers as well as enjoy free hot dogs and finger painting.
